Mrs. Parker started playing piano when she was 4 and added violin when she was 8. She participated in several competitions and festivals in high school, including Western States Honor Orchestra, All State Orchestra, All State Choir, and won 2nd place in the All State Choir Accompanist competition. She also won several awards in the TASHCO Young Artists’ Festival in both piano and violin and was a member of the Denver Young Artists’ Orchestra. She then went to Brigham Young University where she played and toured with the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra, and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a String Emphasis.
She now teaches private music lessons out of her home and accompanies the choirs at Prairie View High School. She started the Orchestra Academy as an opportunity for students to learn string instruments.
