Week 8 Challenge

Hi everyone!

Our Week 8 Challenge is posted below:

If you want to be in the Intermediate Orchestra next year, I will need you to send me a video of you playing the melody part of Brandenburg Concerto on p.22 by the end of the year.  Let me know if you have any questions or need any help!

Week 8 Review

Hi everyone!

If you missed the rehearsal this week, we learned about how to change the volume of our music, aka dynamics.  More in the video below:

We then worked on all of our concert pieces, which are as follows:

  • Hot Cross Buns (p. 7, #13)
  • Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (p. 11, #32)
  • Mary Had a Little Lamb (p. 15, #52) –learn both parts!
  • Ode to Joy (p. 17, #67) –learn both parts!
  • Bile Them Cabbage Down (p. 19, #81) –learn both parts!
  • First Christmas March

Be sure to practice these songs–our concert is only 9 days away!

Week 7 Challenge

Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!

Below is the video for our Week 6 Challenge.  This week we learned D, E, and F# on the staff–your challenge is to start learning G and A as well.  With just these 5 notes we will be able to play so many more songs!  Also, make sure you are still practicing the beginning of First Christmas March.  See you Monday!

Week 5 Challenge

Hi everyone!

This week, my challenge is to learn all of the songs on page 15.

These songs aren’t very hard to play–they all only have D, E, and F#–but they are on the staff so they may be hard to read.  I have uploaded videos of me playing the songs on all of the instruments to help you practice.  Be sure to practice a lot this weekend!  See you Monday!
