Advanced Orchestra Auditions

Fall auditions for the Advanced Orchestra will be on each instrument’s last piece in their book, located on pages 44 and 45. Below I have recorded videos explaining some of the advanced techniques found in the piece, and then a video of me playing the song on its instrument. Intermediate Orchestra Auditions

Hi everyone!

If you want to play in the Intermediate Orchestra in the Fall, then you will need to play the melody line of Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 as your audition piece. This can be found on page 22 of your books. Below are videos of me playing this melody on each instrument so that you know how it should sound. Final Review!

Our concert is on Thursday! Look below for our final review video. Beginning Orchestra should especially listen because we have a program change

The concert order will be as follows:

Beginning Orchestra:

  • Mary Had a Little Lamb (p. 15)—everyone on melody
  • Ode to Joy (p. 17)—everyone on the theme
  • First Scale March
  • Royal Promenade

Intermediate Orchestra:

  • Appalachian Hymn
  • Kabuki Dance
  • Dragonhunter

Combined Orchestras:

  • Impulse

See you all on Thursday! The concert starts at 6:30, but you need to be at the school at 6:00 so that we can get ready. See you then!
