Hi everyone! Please look below to know what we did in rehearsals on Monday.
Beginning Orchestra
After tuning, we reviewed Rolling Along (p. 8, #19) and Lightly Row (p. 9, #22). We then completed a D string note quiz. We then quickly learned the notes on the A string, which can be found on pages 10 and 11. After learning each note, we played Up the D Scale (p. 11, #32) and then I began introducing Mozart Melody (p. 15, #43), which is also known as Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Students should practice all of the songs listed above this week.
Intermediate Orchestra
This week we began with playing the G major scale, arpeggios, and thirds found on page 26 of the String Explorer book (#114, 116, and 117). It was a bit rough, so students should continue to practice these this week.
We then worked on Ninja a lot. Students should practice at least until measure 30 in Ninja this week. We then worked on First Christmas March and Maiden’s Rescue, focusing on more details.
Advanced Orchestra
This week we started with Variant on an Old English Carol and tried to really get the accompaniment parts together. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are getting closer!
We then worked on Sahara Crossing and Nightrider. My goal for us is that each of you can know your parts as well as how the other parts fit in so that we can stay together as a group. Watching the practice videos can help with this!
