Hi everyone! Look below for the reviews for each orchestra.

Beginning Orchestra

In the Beginning Orchestra, we learned about how to hold our bows and also how to read quarter notes and quarter rests. Basically, we learned the second half of last week’s review videos. I have reposted them below.

Violin

This week, we learned the information after 7:40 in this video.

Viola

This week, we learned the information after 7:23 in this video.

Cello

This week, we learned the information after 7:30 in this video.

Bass

This week, we learned the information after 7:35 in this video.

Intermediate Orchestra

In the Intermediate Orchestra, we made the following progress:

  • First Christmas March — We learned the first 4 measures of this song, and we had already learned measures 9 – 25. I asked the students to learn measures 5-8 on their own at home, so they should know the beginning to 25 by our next rehearsal.
  • Russian Music Box — We learned from the beginning until measure 10 this week. I asked the students to practice measures 11-19 this week.
  • Rustic Dance — We learned measures 5-12 this week. I asked the students to practice from the beginning until measure 21 this week.

Advanced Orchestra

In the Advanced Orchestra, we made the following progress:

  • Gargoyles — We learned from the beginning until measure 19 this week. I asked the students to practice until measure 37 this week.
  • Night Shift — We learned about shifting this week — don’t worry! If you missed it, we will review it again next week. As such, the cellos practiced measure 6 – 14, the 1st violins learned measures 14-22, and the violas learned measures 50-56. (The 2nd violins don’t shift in this song.) I would like the students to practice from the beginning until measure 30 this week.
  • Feel It Still — We learned from the beginning until measure 17 this week. I would like students to practice measures 17-26 this week.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
