Welcome to the Monday Orchestra Academy!
I am so excited to begin this program and offer an orchestra program for 27J students.
Starting Monday, October 1st, we will be having orchestra rehearsals at Turnberry Elementary from 11:30am-1:00pm. Student families are responsible for providing an instrument since I have neither the resources nor the space to do so! I will provide the music book and I will spend our Monday rehearsals teaching instrument care, string playing technique, music theory, performance skills, and much more! In December, we will have a concert so that our families and friends can hear our progress! I plan to continue the program to next semester as well and have another concert next Spring.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. We will be having an Informational Meeting on Tuesday, September 25th from 5:00-6:00pm in the Prairie View High School choir room (A103). I will have more information there, and I will have a violin, viola, cello, and bass there to demonstrate! Hope to see you there!
